Football? Soccer? Same same, no?

I'm used to calling it soccer but the English calls it football, soccer is American. So, since we were once British colonized, we have to call it football then.

This is what happens when u have an English boyfriend who will try to correct the terms, grammar, vocab bla bla bla. But noooo, now I have managed to corrupt his English with my S'porean slang. Eyes were glued onto the plasma screen during ENG v PAR match when Daddy Long Legs Crouch missed a goal opportunity, Suddenly, I heard someone shouted, "ALAMAK" at that precise moment. Turned around, thinking there was a Malay bloke beside me, but nope, it was Dom. He seems fond of the 'alamak' expression at the moment. And I didn't even teach him that. He learnt it by listening to conversations between me and my friends. Plus, he was cursing someone the other day. We all knew he knows what 'cheebye' (chibai, cibai, howeva u may spell it) is. But he did not only cursed using 'chibai' but using the whole 'kanninna' (not sure of the spelling again) term. Whoah. Shocking. Like a mother to a child, I told him sternly not to use that swear word any old how if possible never. This angmoh just ha a very sharp ears. Hmmm.. I wonder what else he had learnt from listening his kaypoh ears. Anyway, "Pandai, Domdom".

World Cup so far had been great. Though I am on stanby mode this month, I had proper days off in between flights. Last nite, managed to catch at Long's Bar- Sweden v England. It was a fantastic atmosphere. Imagine watching the games in the bar with the actual people from the respective nationalities playing. U get what i mean? The usual gang attended. Henrik and Anders are Swedish. Dom and Andrew, English. So in same group, we have rivalries. Haha. Chaos. 3 Asians - Me, Yendy and Jenab. Yendy wearing matching jersey top as the ENG team since he is their no.1 supporter (he collects their tops). Me supports England coz I know no one in the Swede's team except that Ljundberg (spelling not sure) guy who is the Calvin Klein model. Jenab, she is currently pursuing a Swede guy and thus, the enthusiasm of cheering in Swedish and wearing their national colour. I was jumping up and down and eeeking away when Gerrard scored the 2nd goal. I had predicted 2-1 and I almost got it right till that last minute goal fm Sweden which came out of nowhere! If only Campbell was fat enought to block the damn ball. Issh. Crushed. But then again, it was a great game. We all had fun and we shook hands with each other after the match (macam kitorang managers/player, apa je).

Tonite is another round. Argentina v Holland. Hmm. Haven't watched any of their games so why not. MF, if you are reading this, guess u should be wearing that bright orange Netherlands jumper and watch the match tonite. Bro, I wish I can enjoy the kopitiam's atmosphere too - prata, rojak, sedapnya...

Post Rome...

Didn't go to the Colosseum. Didn't go to the Vatican. All because the flight was hectic and by the time we arrive it was in the evening. All we could do was to have dinner and 4 scoops of Gelato. Ivana made me run to the shuttle stop coz the next bus was in 2 hrs if we missed the 9pm.

Caught the Italy-Ghana game on tv live from my room. Lucky me eh. BUT I fell asleep halfway (in a half sitting-half lying down) and woke up to the sound of the ref's whistle to mark end of game. Sheesh. Continued sleeping then. At the airport, we managed to catch the Korea-Togo. Since EK is one of the sponsors of the World cup, there were 8 plasma tvs installed at our boarding area so pax would not miss the game. Best of all, arrival in Dubz, at the briefing centre, found the standby crew watching tv intensely. Thought there could be some hot news on BBC. But no..tv was showing the match LIVE. So, me wouldn't mind an airport standby duty for my reserve this month.

Spent the evening with Juling, Puan Sri and Yendi. 1401 Al-Ghadier, our alternative hangout port. Puan Sri had done up the place good. Well, time to sort out your kitchen booys, else dapur takkan berasap.

And to my dearest Bro,"NO YOU ARE NOT DOWNLOADING ANYTHING INTO OR TOUCHING MY BRAND NEW MACBOOK AT ALL!!!" Can't wait to get my hands on my new Maccy top. Praying hard that they'll pull me out for a Singsing flight.

Clearing the air...

When we were young, we had those 'geng tak geng' moments. Tak geng sebab dia cakap kita kopet. Tak geng sebab awak cakap kita bacin. Dan macam-macam lagi.. Well, even though we have aged with years, we can't avoid from these 'kita tak geng awak/dia lagi' moments. As for me, I finally cleared the air with one of my girl pals. Did a flight with her after 1 1/2 years of not seeing her. I am not one who likes to stir things up. Being a Libra, I like to make matters better. Well, no more animosity. Cool. Long story which in the first place not meant to happen at all, it's all cleared. The air is fresh to breathe now...

What's not cleared in the air that I breathe in is my Streptococcus. Tis damn bacteria strikes again. Dom is having it at full blast. Me just having the initial symtoms that is fatigue, feeling sleepy at anytime of the day. Well, Now on another 10 days' course of anti-biotics.

Sheesh. With no laptop, it's been difficult. Hopefully I get a flight to Singsing on my reserve. NEED a MacBook NOW. I haven't got the chance to download my pics and everytime I am at Dom's, I forgot to bring my cammy. Aargh..

Germany can be said as one country which really hyped up about sex, sex, sex, and more sex. Late nites till dawn, u have channels showing 'Sexy Sports' and phone sex chatlines adverts. IT's really funny more than sexually arousing. Ads cater to all ages. They have for granmas and granpas, homos, lesbians, bondage, etc etc. The Sexy Sports show, have women dressed up in any sports outfit and stripping in football fields, tennis court, wrestling ring, basketball court, swimming pool, etc etc, according to some cheesy music slow or fast. I am not pervy. Can;t help it when they dont have any English speaking channels except for BBC and CNN. In Frankfurt recently, me and Nazrah saw A3 size posters informing of a porn party. I will try to load the pic soon. Really cute. When we were taking pics in front of the posters, the passersby were giggling at us. What to do. Coming from a country where everything is censored.

Well, my next stop will be Rome. This time around I want to go to the Colosseum or even the Vatican if possible. Plus, good food awaits.....
